LSI Foundation

LSI Foundation is a non-profit subsidiary of Linguistic Systems, Inc. For more than ten years, LSI Foundation has provided expert translation services to pro bono clients of leading law firms. Applicants must be approved in advance to receive funding for pro bono translation services. A limited number of applicants are accepted into the program.

LSI Foundation has recently upgraded its pro bono services to now include: 

• Higher annual service limits (to $24,000).
• Ai Translate advanced translation capabilities including Human Translation (HT), Human Post-Editing of Machine Translation (HPE), and Machine Translation (MT) in more than 100 language pairs.
• Speech to Text (transcription of audio and video files).
• Ai Translate Analytics including cross-lingual meaning-based search.
• Custom prompting and entity extraction.
• Legal interpreting in more than 200 languages.

Pro Bono Services Agreement

The LSI Foundation requires you to apply for pro bono services. Only a limited number of clients can be accepted into the program. Here is a brief summary of the Agreement. 

• Non-Solicitation/Non-Circumvention Agreement. The Client agrees not to solicit or retain any employee, translator, interpreter, or other personnel supplied by the LSI Foundation (The Foundation) or Linguistic Systems, Inc. (LSI) to the Client, other than by submitting the request for the desired work.
• Supplement to the Ai Translate WebGate Pro Bono Agreement. These additional terms shall be construed as an integral part of the referenced agreement, as if physically included within the aforementioned agreement.
  • 1) Pro Bono Use Requirement. The end user expressly acknowledges and agrees that the services provided under this agreement are intended solely for use in pro bono matters. The end user shall not use these services for any commercial, for-profit, or personal financial gain purposes.
  • 2) Subscription Renewal and Usage-Based Replenishment. The services are provided on a subscription basis, with an initial allocation of provisioned units. The subscription shall automatically renew upon the depletion of the starting provisioned units, contingent upon replenishment being requested and fulfilled in accordance with applicable terms. 
  • 3) Nonprofit EIN Requirement. The end user must verify their eligibility as a qualifying nonprofit by submitting a valid Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the United States.
